Share your recipe. Share your story. Be featured!

Food is more than nourishment — it’s memory, identity, community, and belonging. We invite home chefs, storytellers, and cultural keepers from every background to share a recipe that’s close to your heart, along with the story behind it. Whether it’s an heirloom dish passed down through generations, a holiday favorite, or a creative twist on tradition — your submission will help FHRC to build a rich, multicultural cookbook that celebrates both food and the right to a place called home. Together, we’ll preserve heritage, spark connection, and honor the power of belonging — one dish and one story at a time.

Why This Matters

Having a place to call home is about more than just housing — it’s about belonging,  and being seen. Across cultures and generations, dishes and memories bind us to our families, histories, and neighborhoods. This project isn’t just about recipes; it’s about the shared stories that shape our sense of home. By collecting and sharing these recipes and narratives, our goals are to:

  • Preserve and celebrate the culinary heritage of all cultures in our community.

  • Highlight how our personal and family stories are connected to the idea of home, belonging, and fairness.

  • Foster understanding, empathy, and connection across diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Reinforce that everyone deserves a home — not just a house, but a place where their story is welcomed and respected.

How You Can Contribute

We invite you to take part by submitting your recipe, story, and photo. Whether it’s a dish passed through generations or something new with meaning, your voice matters. Submissions are respected and credited, and you can choose how much personal detail you wish to include.

What happens to your Story, recipe and photo?

All entries will be reviewed, edited (if needed), and curated into a community cookbook that will be used to:

  • Showcase the cultural diversity and richness of our community’s kitchens.

  • Share stories of tradition, belonging, migration, innovation, and identity.

  • Serve as a tool for education and awareness about the importance of home, cultural heritage, and fair housing.

  • Inspire connection, dialogue, and action toward more inclusive, respectful community spaces.

FHRC will take all the shared stories, recipes and photos and create a community cook book.
